Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means (SVMCM) Scholarship Scheme has been introduced and funded by the government of West Bengal.

With this scholarship, meritorious students can complete higher studies in various institutions in West Bengal.

Students of Class XI and XII, Under Graduate level students in Engineering, Medical and Technical / Professional courses along with Under Graduate, Post Graduate level students pursuing General Degree courses are all benefited under this scheme.

Eligibility of Swami Vivekananda (Bikash Bhavan) scholarship

You need to fulfill the following criteria for applying for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship 2021-22

The student must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
The students must pass the last examination from West Bengal board, council or any university of West Bengal.
The students will also have to currently study in any institution in West Bengal.
Students who will apply for the HS level examination must have 60% marks in class X.
Those who will apply for UG level will have to score 60% marks in HS level.
Those who will apply for post graduate courses will have to score 55% marks in UG level.
The annual income of the family must not exceed Rs. 250000 per year. Candidate’s family earning more than this amount is not eligible for the scholarship.

Selection Process of Swami Vivekananda (Bikash Bhavan) Scholarship

The selection of the students for the scholarship is done on the basis of marks scored in the last exam and after that on the basis of family income.

A merit list is prepared on the basis of the criteria mentioned above. After that, all the documents are verified properly by the department.

Finally, the scholarships are distributed to the selected students.
